Course
Content
This course is
specifically designed for adult
students who plan to return to further education or wish to update
their CV. It is a flexible programme of study which aims to
re-skill adult students. The course
fulfils the requirements of a ‘pre-Access’ course and students
who progress onto the Access course are able to transfer their
level 2 credits to count towards their final Access certificate.
The Step into
the Future course is designed to be flexible enough to suit the
needs of adults who may have personal, domestic or work
responsibilities which must be fitted around their studies. The
course enrols twice in every academic year in September and late
January and all classes are timetabled between the hours of 10.00
am and 3.00 pm with no classes during the school half terms.

Progression
and career guidance are an integral part of the course and
successful completion of the course leads to the NOCN (National
Open College Network) Key Skills award.
Method of
Assessment
Students are
required to compile a portfolio of
evidence and will complete a variety of assignments.
Entry
Requirements
There are no
formal entry requirements for this course, however applicants will
require a basic level of
numeracy and communication skills.
Opportunities
Students who
successfully complete the course
and who gain accreditation may choose to progress to an Access to
Higher Education course, Advanced Vocational Certificate of
Education programmes, or a variety of other College courses. |
