This course is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the the computing industry. It is particularly suited to those who wish to work in e-commerce, MIS support administration or database management.

Method of Assessment

Assessment is mainly by assignment and practical work.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally possess 4 GCSEs (grade ‘C’ or above), an appropriate Intermediate GNVQ, or equivalent qualification. They will also need to provide satisfactory references. Applications from individuals with relevant previous experience, including mature students, are particularly welcomed.

Opportunities

On completion of this course students attain a recognised vocational qualification which can act as a prerequisite for entry onto a higher education course, such as a degree or HND, or full-time employment. Examples of the sort of jobs students may wish to progress onto, include trainee e-commerce developers, trainee MIS adminstrators and trainee database managers/developers.
