ASDAN Towards Independence

One, Two or Three Year Course

Course Content

This course is designed for people with learning difficulties/disabilities who wish to enhance their independence and social skills. The programme is designed to meet the needs of people who may wish to live independently in the community or to improve their literacy and numeracy skills. The course is accredited through ASDAN (Awards Scheme Development Accreditation Network) a nationally recognised awarding body, and learners are given as much help as they need to achieve the award.

  • Cookery

  • Current Affairs

  • Drama

  • Getting Ready to Go Out

  • Independent Living

  • Information Technology

  • Music

  • Photography

  • Pottery

  • Out in the Community

  • Spending Money

  • Sport

  • Using Transport 

Method of Assessment

Students are assessed continuously.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but applicants will be interviewed prior to acceptence.

Opportunities

On successful completion of this course students can progress onto the Collegešs Bridging Programme.
