One Year Course

Course Content

This course offers a basic introduction to the world of work and includes, where possible, work experience in the studentıs chosen vocational area. The course includes compulsory units in the Application of Number, Communications Skills, IT Skills, Personal Development and Preparing for Work. Students will also take part in a work experience programme.

  • Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

  • Health and Social Care

  • Sport and Recreation

  • Travel and Tourism

Where applicable, there is the opportunity to work towards appropriate NVQ units at level 1.

Method of Assessment

Students are assessed continuously.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but applicants will require a basic level of numeracy and communication skills. They will also need to provide satisfactory references.

Opportunities

The course can provide progression to NVQ level 2 and/or an Intermediate GNVQ programme in an appropriate subject area.
