IIHHT & AOR Intensive Combined Body Massage, Aromatherapy & Reflexology

One Year Course

Course Content

This course combines a number of specialist beauty therapy practices in one single programme. The Body Massage and Aromatherapy elements of the course studied are validated by the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapy (IIHHT), whilst successful completion of the Reflexology element leads to an Association of Reflexology (AOR) certificate. Where required further study is available to complement these qualifications. 

The course covers the four major and minor human systems, namely muscular, neurological, skeletal and respiratory, adopting an holistic approach. Specific subjects covered include:

• Client Care

• Contra-indications

• Counselling

• Indian Head Massage

• Massage Movements

• Origin and Use of Oils

• Reflexology 

Method of Assessment

Students are assessed continuously through case studies, assignments and end of term examinations.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but applicants will need to be a minimum of 19 years of age and require a basic level of numeracy and communication skills. They will also need to provide satisfactory references. Applications from individuals with relevant previous experience, including mature students, are particularly welcomed.

This course can lead to many rewarding career opportunities including work in private or public health care, health farms, holistic retreats and alternative therapy centres. Opportunities also exist with individual small businesses, large city centre salons and cruise liners.
