Content
The
AVCE in Hospitality and Catering is designed to develop studentsą
confidence and prepare them
for employment in the industry. It covers a broad
range of subjects in order to give students experience of as many
aspects of the industry as
possible. Core subjects include:
The
course also includes periods of work experience at prestigious venues,
such as Royal Ascot and
Buckingham Palace, as well as visits to relevant exhibitions
and nationally renowned establishments like The Savoy Hotel.

are assessed through assignments and external tests.
Entry
Requirements
Applicants
should normally possess 4
GCSEs (grade ŚCą or above), an appropriate Intermediate GNVQ, or
equivalent qualification.
They will also need to provide satisfactory references.
Applications from individuals with relevant previous experience, including
mature students, are particularly welcomed.
Opportunities
This
qualification is ideal for anyone wishing to enter the industry at
trainee management or
supervisory level. Previous students are now working as
restaurant managers, conference and banqueting managers and cruise liner
stewards. The course can
also act as an excellent route
to higher education. |
