Two Year Course

Course Content

This course is primarily designed to prepare students for officer level entry into the uniformed services. As with the intermediate level course, the aim is to give young men and women an insight into life in a uniform service. Classroom theory is put into practice in a series of expeditions and practical exercises which develop a variety of skills. The challenging nature of the activities on the course also helps to improve the studentıs confidence and ability to cope under pressure. Physical fitness is an important aspect of the course, although not a prerequisite for entry.

Method of Assessment

Students are assessed through assignments, observation and practical tests 

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally possess 4 GCSEs (grade ŒCı or above), an appropriate Intermediate GNVQ, or equivalent qualification. Applications from individuals with relevant previous experience, including mature students, are particularly welcomed.

Opportunities

Upon completion of this course students will be eligible for direct entry to any of the uniformed services at either commissioned or non-commissioned ranks. Former students have progressed onto successful careers in the RAF, Army (including Parachute Regiment), Navy (including Royal Marines), Police, Fire, Ambulance, Prison Service and HM Customs.
